WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-08) was appointed to the prestigious House Committee on Energy and Commerce for the 117th Congress.

“It is an honor to be selected by my colleagues to serve on the Energy and Commerce Committee,” said Congresswoman Lesko. “I look forward to working with Ranking Member McMorris Rodgers and the other members of the committee to tackle the pressing issues facing our nation. I am eager to be a strong voice for common-sense healthcare, increased manufacturing and commerce across our country, consumer protections, telecom reforms, and America’s energy independence.”

“Congresswoman Debbie Lesko is going to be a great asset to our team on the Energy and Commerce Committee. It’s the most influential committee in the House and especially for Arizona. Congresswoman Lesko is a proven leader and strong advocate for those she serves. I look forward to working with her to advance priorities like protecting free speech,” said Committee Ranking Member Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05).

The Committee on Energy and Commerce is the oldest standing legislative committee in the U.S. House of Representatives and is vested with the broadest jurisdiction of any congressional authorizing committee. The committee has responsibility for matters including telecommunications, consumer protection, food and drug safety, public health and research, environmental quality, energy policy, and interstate and foreign commerce among others.
