“Today was the first day of the 116^th Congress, and despite their calls for bipartisanship, the Democrats wasted time voting on partial funding bills not supported by President Trump or Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Newly-elected Speaker Pelosi got her gavel, now it’s time to come to the negotiating table and get serious about ending this partial government shutdown. Let’s put the politics aside and our national security first.”
