WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-08) released the following statement on the passing of Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord:

“I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord. She was such a classy woman and a joy to be around, I feel honored to have had the opportunity to work with her over the years. As the city’s first female mayor, Mayor Lord served as a role model and inspiration to young women across the West Valley. She served the city and the state of Arizona honorably and she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this time.”
