Washington, D.C.—U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-08) sent a letter to United States Postal Service (USPS) Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to request a briefing on the validity of reports regarding the United States Postal Inspection Service’s Internet Covert Operations Program (iCOP) and alleged tracking of the social media accounts of American citizens.

“There have been reports that the USPS has been running a covert operations program that monitors Americans’ social media accounts,” said Congresswoman Lesko. “I am requesting a briefing from the USPS to find out whether these reports are true, the scope of the iCOP program, and whether USPS has been sharing American citizens’ data with other government agencies. We must get to the bottom of these allegations regarding USPS’s invasion of Americans’ privacy.”
