WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-08) and other bipartisan members of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce blocked H.R. 3, Speaker Pelosi’s radical price control scheme for prescriptions drugs.

“I’m pleased with the bipartisan work my colleagues and I did to block this price control scheme that would lead to fewer cures and less hope for the millions of Americans battling disease,” said Congresswoman Lesko. “This socialist price control scheme would stifle innovation and leave many suffering. I was proud to vote no.”

Democrats included provisions from H.R. 3 in their $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package that was considered by the committee earlier this week. Democrat Representatives Scott Peters (D-CA), Kathleen Rice (D-NY), and Kurt Schrader (D-OR) joined with all Republicans in defeating the plan.
