LESKO STATEMENT ON APPROPRIATIONS FUNDING VOTE IN U.S. HOUSE
March 22, 2024
WASHINGTON, D.C.–Today, the U.S. House of Representatives approved the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024. U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-08) issued the following statement:
“Today, I voted no on the minibus budget deal that adds to our national debt and fails to advance critical conservative priorities. There were no funds to build the wall and no policies to secure the border. Instead, the budget increased funding for processing, housing, and healthcare for even more illegal immigrants. The budget also included funding for alternatives to detention for illegal migrants, nearly $1 billion for climate initiatives at the Department of Defense , and no protection against funds being used to support DoD’s radical abortion travel policy. Because of this, I could not in good conscience support this package.”
