WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (R-AZ-08) offered the following statement on the appointment of freshman Representative Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ-06) to the powerful House Appropriations Committee:

“Congratulations to Congressman Juan Ciscomani for winning a position on the powerful House Appropriations Committee. As a member of the Republican Steering Committee, I was honored to nominate and support Juan, and I am very excited that he was the only Republican freshman member to be seated on the committee. In this position, Juan will be able to advocate for his community and all of Arizona.”

Lesko serves as the Regional Representative for Arizona on the Republican Steering Committee, which is tasked with assigning members to the committees of the House. Ciscomani was the only freshman representative to be named to the Appropriations Committee.
