This week, Outreach Director Lynndy Smith from the office of Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) presented Jeffrey (Jeff) Turney, Retired Air Force Police Officer of 20 years, with the Arizona’s 8^th—Congressional Recognition.

“Jeff has been serving his fellow Americans and his community for decades as an Air Force Police Officer and now as a Glendale Police Officer,” said Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-08). “By serving as Chair of the Military and Veterans Affairs Committee for the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, he brings awareness and assistance to current military personnel and veterans in the Glendale area. Thank you, Jeff, for your service to our nation and to our community.”

Background: Jeff Turney is a retired U.S. Air Force Police Officer of 20 years and currently a Glendale Police Officer of 18 years. He has truly gone above and beyond to advocate and protect his fellow serviceman. He does this not only in his service as a police officer but as Chair of the Glendale Chamber’s Military and Veterans Affairs Committee.

Having completed his military commitments in 2000, Jeff moved to Arizona and obtained a sworn officer’s position with the Glendale police department. His experience with the department includes time as a patrol officer and a domestic violence detective.

Jeff received a Bachelor’s degree in Workforce Education and Development, a Master’s degree in Public Administration, a second Masters in Business and Organizational Security Management, and a PhD in Public Safety, specializing in Leadership. He is a member of the Arizona Chapter of the FBI National Academy, the local American Legion, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Police Futurist International, and is a lifetime member of the Air Force Association.
