WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-08) released the following statement on the first week of votes in the U.S. House of Representatives for the 118^th Congress:

“It has been a record first week for House Republicans! With the new majority, we are delivering on our Commitment to America. We passed historic legislation in just the first few days to repeal the funding for President Biden’s 87,000 IRS agents, protect the fundamental right to life, stand up to Communist China, and promote our energy security. I was pleased to cosponsor and vote for these important measures in the House. I will continue to combat the Biden Administration’s failed agenda and deliver real results for Arizonans.”

This week, Congresswoman Lesko voted in favor of the following pieces of legislation which passed the U.S. House of Representatives:

• H.R. 23, the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act, to rescind funding for Biden’s 87,000 new IRS agents.
  
  
• H. Res. 11, to establish the bipartisan Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party.
  
  
• H. Res. 12, to establish a Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government against Americans.

• H.R. 26, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, to require that infants born alive after an abortion receive the same protection of law and degree of care as any newborn.

• H.Con.Res. 3, to condemn the recent attacks on pro-life facilities, groups, and churches.

• H.R. 22, the Protecting America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve from China Act, to prohibit the Secretary of Energy from sending petroleum products from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to China.
