WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Lesko (AZ-08) introduces legislation to prohibit the use of federal funds to facilitate mandatory vaccination programs.

“With their unconstitutional vaccine mandates, the Biden Administration continues to trample on the individual rights of Americans. I am introducing this important legislation to ensure that no federal funds are used to mandate vaccines and erode American’s personal liberties,” said Congresswoman Lesko. “Every American should have the freedom to make a personal decision regarding the COVID-19 vaccine—this is not the government’s business.”

On September 9, 2021, President Joseph R. Biden announced that federal employees, federal contractors, and healthcare workers at facilities that receive federal funding must show proof of vaccination. This followed an earlier Executive Order issued in mid-August requiring the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to create regulations requiring businesses with 100 or more employees to require vaccinations or show proof of a negative test. This bill addresses both of these mandates. The bill prohibits any federal funds made available to a state, or a political subdivision thereof, from being used to facilitate mandatory vaccination programs related to the COVID-19 vaccines.
